Who are you and what do you do?
The humans behind Factory 43 are Andrew and Veronica, two friends who share a sense of humor and love of design. Together we create quality graphic goods featuring our original illustrations — including T-shirts for kids and adults, screen-printed posters, and letterpress cards.
What do you love most about craft show vending?
We really enjoy seeing the delight on customers faces when they look at one of our shirts or posters and recognize themselves or a friend in our artwork.
How did you get started in your business?
The seeds of Factory 43 were planted while we were both working at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. When the paper ceased publication in 2009, we decided to make it a reality. While we both found new jobs, we continued to work to on Factory 43 on evenings and weekends. We bought a Heidelberg Windmill letterpress, took some classes, expanded our product line and continued to evolve and grow.
Is this a full-time business for you?
It took a while, but both Andrew and Veronica are doing this full time. It is a huge step for our business.
What do your customers love most about your product(s)?
Our customers love our artwork, but I think they really connect with our sense of humor. We love having people come into our booth and just start laughing.
